Description
First of all, let me apologize for the weird background edges. It seemed to make sense in my head at the time, but it looks really sloppy to me now.
Anyway, I joined FurAffinity just a couple of days ago because I thought they might be a good audience for my artwork of anthropomorphic animals. My username there is "Wapitisaurus90," and you are certainly welcome to check it out, but my deviantART account is my main gallery and anything and everything I make will be posted here, so there really isn't anything new to be seen on my FurAffinity account.
Even though some circles would certainly call me a furry, I don't really consider a fursona of myself very much, especially because I have Dreyfus and Billy Bob to represent me online if I need it. However, it felt sort of silly having a FurAffinity account and only having one picture of my elk fursona, so I made a second one (this one) yesterday. This is me out cleaning fossils of some Triassic animals in the Alcova Formation. From the looks of it, I scored big time! The Alcova Formation is from the middle of the Triassic Period when fossilization was really rare, which means finding a fossil like this is really tough!
I was just going to give myself a neutral expression, but when I was darkening the outline of my sketch I thought it looked too negative and not very me-ish, so instead I'm singing an instrumental song to myself! I did that quite a bit on the last fossil expedition that I went on. I've never drawn a mouth in the middle of sounding a phoneme like that, so I'm sorry if it looks a bit off.
I had a lot of fun adding little touches to this. One of the ones that didn't make the cut was a couple of footprints in the dirt to show that I've been moving around in it while looking for stuff, but I couldn't figure out the right perspective for them. Now the only indication you have that I've been searching around in the dirt is the pink dust on my clothes and hooves!
Anyway, I hope you like it, even if the edges are weird.
