Phantom God

EDIT: Updated with colored version. I'm proud of it. In the background you can see on the left the Doldrum Tower, where O-Kapi and Felix live, and the cemetery that surrounds it. In the distance are the wastelands of the Doldrums (Russiac's underworld) and the Dreadful Mountains, along with the portal to Typhon's universe.

Felix and the ghosts were drawn and colored in Paint.NET, and the background was drawn and colored in Photoshop Elements.

About Felix:
This is Felix, the God of Ghosts. Felix is the "Grim Reaper" of Russiac, retreiving a soul from a dead corpse and delivering the soul to Gaia for inspection. Souls are quick to run from their dead bodies, so Felix is typically right at the side of O-Kapi, the God of Death. That way, he can catch the ghosts before they escape. The ghosts that you see every now and then are the souls that escaped Felix.

You can probably tell from the picture, but Felix has a very distinct physical appearance. He is a floating, black ghost cat whose hindquarters have been replaced by a pumpkin--a product of impregnating a female cat with the sperm of a male pumpkin flower (Felix is a ghost because due to the uncompatable DNA he died at birth; like a handful of other undead gods, Felix is the product of one of Typhon's experiments). Felix's arms are long and lanky so that he can reach farther with his scythe. Felix is characterized by his freakish laughter, which is said to hauntingly echo through cemeteries at night.

There is a Felix Fan Club amongst the ghost population, and the crazy ghosts of anime fangirls are seen as wisps around him (Felix was once featured in a Pandite comic up in Arctic Russiac--yes, that's the Russiac equivalent to Japanese comics). He is unpopular amongst the living population, however. Because the sight of Felix most certainly means that Death (O-Kapi) is soon to follow, folks have gotten superstitious about black cats (Felix is a black cat).

Felix and O-Kapi have been best of friends since forever. Though Felix is not the biological son of Typhon and Gaia, he is treated like a member of the family. Felix's spiritual sister (no pun intended) is Ariel, the Goddess of Souls. Felix lives with O-Kapi in the Doldrums' wastelands.

It is said that Felix secretly has a fear of hellhounds.

Felix was inspired loosely by the Chesire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, and his appearance was heavily based on a plushie of the cartoon Felix the Cat in a pumpkin.
