Description
Har, this was the third time today I drew some pictures of this...this THING.
Last night I dreamt that I was trapped in some forest with this tapir. It went up on two legs like a grizzly bear or a hunchback. Then it lunged at me! And it grabbed me and hurled me into the ground HARD. Multiple times. And it beat the crap out of me. I fell unconscious, and when I came to I was safe at home... For the remainder of the dream I spent time at my "dream house" experiencing extreme trauma whenever the word "tapir" was mentioned.
Thanks to this creature I have discovered that I am better at drawing tapirs than I am deer and okapis. It probably stems from how tapirs were my favorite animals in my early childhood. I think sometime I should scan some of the tapir drawings I drew today.
Drawing this for the third time, it really donned on me how similar the tapir bear thing looked to Drowzee and therefore to Baku, the Oriental dream-devouring tapir. I don't believe in Baku, but if it exists then...maybe the thing that beat me up was Baku! o.o If it exists, then it's very possible. In any case, Baku has now hit the top of my "Mythological Creatures to Consider Believing In" chart.
The most accurate picture to the dream, by the way, is the middle one (depicting the part where the tapir came at me). The other two are conceptual ones based on the middle picture and on what happened in the dream.
Strange, creepy, exceedingly territorial tapir (Baku?) (c) 2008 Me
PS
Apologies for the high amounts of white space.
